Craft

Craft, as its name might also refer to, is a program of education, which includes the realization of a one-to-one scale project with the collaboration of its participants. The main research agenda for 2015 was to find out methods of constructing a free-form surface structure by using composite materials with the use of the ‘Flexible Forming’ technique. The design product was provided through a collaborative approach and the fabrication and construction have been done in the same fashion.

The design derived from geometrical and mathematical manipulation of known minimal surfaces, creating a complex continuous multi curvature surface. The selected material was Polyester resins as it brings controllability and also able to combine with layers of fiberglass and reinforcement, which gives desired strength and structural stability.
